Invicta Go The Extra Mile

Aug 02, 2012

Over the last month we have had the usual water treatment works of taking samples, fixing errant boreholes and making sure boilers blow down correctly. All run-of-the-mill stuff. Then up pop two last-minute projects: flush and fill two chillers on Oxford Tube Station roof and fabricate an RO system from scratch in 36 hours! The chillers are located on the roof of a 5 storey building via stair and ladder access (lift was broken) so we manually transported all our (heavy) gear, including glycol, to the very top, and then found there was little mains water but plenty of rain, lovely. Following several interesting mechanical moments the chillers finally breathed into life, so there will be plenty of cool air for those travellers on the Oxofrd line and the D&C line.

How long does it take to build an RO system on a skid, take it to site and install it , and run drains, power and mains water? 36 hours is the answer. Triflex Productions have just finished installing and setting up a new printing line and needed deionised water for the inks. We have supported Triflex over the last few years on one of their other lines and so we were asked to supply a new system but make it better, which we did, of course. The system is up and running and fork-lift driver proof!

Now the Olympics are here we wish everyone going to London the very best of British! Go Team GB!
